Why Lost Friend Found is better
What we offer:
Our proprietary search software is one of a kind. It allows you to search for old friends with many search terms at once. Keyword searches can help you identify your friend more easily. Our search engine narrows your search significantly. If the person you are seeking is 50 years old, you won’t get a list of 37-year-olds to wade through.
Seekers can contact the person they believe may be their old friend via our private messaging system without revealing their email address. It’s then up to the two of you to decide if you wish to reconnect. If you aren’t the person they are looking for, you can send a pre-set response with one click of your mouse.
What if you don’t immediately find the old friend you’re seeking? Enter your search terms, and we’ll watch for that person 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Every four years, we’ll throw in February 29, too. The moment someone matching your search criteria comes on board, we’ll let you know with an e-mail, and you can take it from there.
We give you complete control:
Customize your profile to fit your life. Enter as little or as much information as you want, although entering more information will increase the chances that a lost friend will find you. We give you many options. You can enter every name you have ever been known by, including stage names and nicknames. Put in places you have worked, lived, gone to school, served in the military. Include professional and service clubs, organizations and churches. We even give you a space for specific keywords that don’t fit anywhere else, like "Camp Pennyroyal" or "Mrs. Oliver’s class."
We guard your privacy like a pit bull with a New York attitude. Because we use extra layers of encryption, your personal information is protected. No one sees your full profile. Search results include only information which matches what searchers enter. If they knew you as Nicoletta Regina Smith of Texarkana, they won’t know that you are now Nicoletta Regina Smith-McDowell of Dickinson, North Dakota. None of your current information is revealed.
What if you don’t want to be found by that certain person from your past? If he or she sends you a private message, you have the option to block that person from communicating with you. In addition, when you block another member, you become invisible to that person. Your information will never appear in their search results again.
How about premium memberships, or gold memberships, or platinum-plated super-duper insider memberships that give you access to all our best features? We don’t offer any of those. All of our members are gold. You get access to all our features, all the time, for less than a dollar a month. We won’t bug you to upgrade your membership, because there are no upgrades. If we ever do change our website for the better, you’ll get access to the new and improved version automatically.
What we are not:
- We are not a social networking site. We don’t help you find new virtual friends, we help you reconnect with old real-world friends.
- We are not searching through public records and repeating information you could have easily found on your own.
- We are not harvesting your current information to sell, rent, or share with third parties.
- We are not pleasing our advertisers at the expense of pleasing our members, because we don’t have advertisers.
- We are not yet another website that requires you to constantly check in, upload photos, and tell everyone what you just had for dinner.
